March 8: Flowers? Or rights?


United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR1325), on women, peace, and security, was adopted in October 2000. It turned out almost 23 years ago!

" New goals and effective plans on women’s involvement in peacebuilding are needed before it is too late” - Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, warned during the Security Council meeting on Tuesday, 07/03/23. - “More than 20 years after UNSCR1325, women and girls continue to bear the brunt of conflict and are excluded from peacemaking processes. We need radical changes to make the most of the women, peace and security agenda – now.”
